I think I’m safe… at least for now.
I’ve seen a handful of websites offering AI-generated headshots popping up around the internet, but it seems they’re only going to work for people who don’t feel particularly attached to their images being of – you know -your actual self
I’ll admit… the tech is amazing – scary, even – but in this era of plasticized this and fake that, I find myself leaning hard in the other direction.
Reality – for all its flaws – is our lived experience, and preserving that lived experience is the thing that drew me to photography in the first place… it’s a brief glimpse at life – and ourselves – at a particular moment in time.
Now there ARE things I love outsourcing to AI…like some basic editing or input dietary restrictions and preferences, then ask it to plan a week’s worth of meals (along with the required shopping list)? Yes please! Just keep a close eye out for any recipes involving bleach or glue…
But photography? Let’s just say I’m not closing up shop any time soon. If you’d like to have (real) photos of your (real)personality, I’d (really) love to work with you.
Cheers, Matea
P.S. Have any funny AI stories to share? Experiments gone awry? Hit reply and share… I’d love to hear about them!
